Movember – Changing the Face of Men’s Mental Health
Posted on by
In the last 12 months, Movember has made great advances for men’s health, even with the challenges the global pandemic presents. If you fundraised last year, thank you for contributing to these fantastic achievements. Want to jump right in and start raising vital funds for men’s health this year? Great! You can do that here, but read on to hear more about some great results from Movember projects.
Here are some of the things Movember has achieved with the funds raised by the community.
- Approval of two new FDA approved prostate cancer drugs (Olaparib and Rucaparib) that Movember contributed to.
- 11 men’s health projects across the UK, Ireland, Australia and Canada are to receive a total of £1.86 million in funding over the next two years through Movember’s Social Connections Challenge (SCC). A direct response to the pandemic
- Nuts & Bolts is Movember’s comprehensive site tackling testicular cancer, providing information and support to men. The site takes you through the journey from diagnosis to treatment, and includes sections on visiting the doctor, and sex & fertility. There is also a pilot option to talk to a guide in Australia or the UK who has also been diagnosed with the disease, and a community Q&A compiling real questions from our community
None of this would be possible without the amazing fundraising of people like you. So make your Mo Run count and sign up today.
We can’t do it without you.
